So when we ught an NYC show of X Ambassadors, the dynamic Brooklyn-based quartet of brothers Sam (vols, guar, saxophone) and Casey Harris (keyboard), pl Noah Feldshuh (guar) and Adam Lev (dms), we knew we uldn't let them out of our sight. Our mom's a jazz sger. Sam and I would sometim sg Oliver Twist songs. But Casey was jt such a nasty keyboard player.</p><p><strong>Noah Feldshuh:</strong> Sam and I have gone to the same school sce krgarten Itha, and then NYC at the New School, which is where we met Adam.</p><p><strong>How would you scribe your mic?</strong></p><p><strong>CH:</strong> It's a patchwork of different styl.</p><p><strong>NF:</strong> Our mic has always kd of been all over the board sce our fluenc e om so many backgrounds.</p><p><strong>SH:</strong> We want to create mic that fi genr.</p><p><strong>How did you lk up wh Alex da Kid and Image Dragons' Dan Reynolds?</strong></p><p><strong>SH:</strong> Last December, Dan Reynolds om Image Dragons heard "Unnsolable" on the rad while he was the r and sent to Alex da Kid. Part of the reason they were so exced about was bee we had created this unique sound on our own, and Alex wanted to amplify that. I hope none of ever get to the pot where that's somethg we take for granted.</p><p><strong>Where did your band name e om?</strong></p><p><strong>Adam Lev:</strong> From my dmhead. We lerally spent like a month 2007 tryg to ci.</p><p><strong>CH:</strong> Comg up wh band nam is really difficult. We would jt change our name, like, every other year.</p><p><strong>AL:</strong> We were the Ks, and The Weight, and Srlet Jo-Manson. That was our noise si project.</p><p><strong>SH:</strong> Noah and I started our first band middle school and was lled Pocket. It was named after Hot Pockets. Sam lov his Hot Pockets!</p><p><strong>Who were your mil spiratns growg up?</strong></p><p><strong>CH:</strong> I listened to a lot of mic that me out the '70s—everythg om prog-rock and jazz fn, to funk and bands like Parliament.</p><p><strong>AL:</strong> At that age I was very to jazz bands. Also, Led Zeppl is probably my favore band ever.</p><p><strong>NF:</strong> We were obssed wh the Red Hot Chili Peppers growg up. Obssed!</p><p><strong>SH:</strong> I went through so many different mil phas when I was a kid. We listened to The Fuge, A Tribe Called Qut, D'Angelo, De La Soul, Method Man and Redman. I listened to a lot of protopunk stuff like Iggy and the Stoog and The Damned. I was also listeng to Will Smh a lot for a while. I love Will Smh. I even bought <em>Willennium</em>—so funny.</p><p><strong>What albums do you have on heavy rotatn at the moment?</strong></p><p><strong>AL:</strong> We've been listeng to J Cole, Kanye, and the new Disclosure rerd.</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-4 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p><strong>SH:</strong> I <em>love</em> Sam Smh. brothers?</strong></p><p><strong>SH:</strong> You uld say we've been together sce 6th gra, when we were 12 years old, you know?</p><p><strong>NF:</strong> Sce Pocket.</p><p><strong>SH:</strong> We
