Gay Love and Other Fairy Tal was not all I hoped would be.

WHY THIS CHARMG GAY FAIRYTALE HAS BEEN LOST FOR 200 YEARS
It’s long been prumed by historians and folklorists that heroic LGBTQ characters simply didn’t exist. But when one ancient gay fairytale was disvered, one amic has explas they were actually eded out of history as recently as the 1960s. * gay love and other fairy tales *
I am pecially pleased that this book avoid the "bury your gays" trope which I fd a plethora of when readg this genre. Y, beats out "Love, Simon" for me and I absolutely loved that book and did I enjoy "Gay Love and Other Fairy Tal" so much? Hontly speakg, this is the exact kd of story we need to see more of both prt, movi, and televisn I had the power btowed upon me, I would see "Gay Love and Other Fairy Tal" adapted to a televisn seri.

'PRCE & KNIGHT' PUTS A GAY-INCLIVE TWIST ON TRADNAL FAIRY TAL
We all have different experienc as queer people and I feel the need to list the thgs bee some of uld make other queer people unfortable or trigger old memori and I don’t see some of mentned the ia of Gay Love and Other Fairy Tal was nice when scribed by a few tweets on Twter and an okay synopsis. I thought one out gay kid tryg to help another, closeted, gay kid bee fortable wh who they are over a wter break sound like a cute but still slightly ep story, and uld be, but not the way this one was start, I would like to addrs the unnecsary over e of the F word that rhym wh hag. It was jt tossed around too loosely for while I don’t md the gay stereotype stori, bee there are actual people who are like that, I do feel the need to put out there that this book has a lot of gay stereotype stuff gog on for those who don’t like to read books wh those them.
So if you’re lookg for a book that’s not the gay stereotype, this one isn’t . You get one brief ment about one of the ma character’s havg brown sk and bis the other ma character on the ver, I lerally have no ia what the characters look like and I dnfed at about 60 also leads me to the fact that the thor is whe and wrg the stggl of ternalized homophobia and not g out bee of a homophobic fay of a character that is scribed as havg brown sk. It’s totally fe to wre about a character who says that though, bee there are gay people who do, but I leave that here bee I am not okay wh and I know some people may be triggered by or be unfortable readg beyond that one scene, I feel I wouldn’t be brgg the full ntext to the table to list the other problems I had om the quick skim I did of the rt of the that’s why I dnfed.

Throw a fairy-tale prom, a stupid high school prank volvg hot dogs (which is really the only overt homophobia the book, apart om disapprovg background parents beg disapprovg the background), and make-out ssns at a picturque pot, and you've got yourself a classic YA teenage high school romance.

Right om the start the wrg felt like the work of a reasonably talented high school stunt, wh every emotn refully explited rather than shown, and dialogue that belonged an after-school special (if they did after school specials on gay romance). A ltle angsty but that’s teen life for uld easily be ma to a gay rom , and why not.
