The imag featured here are om the 1974 para, then lled the Gay Freedom Day Para. The spontaneo Stonewall Uprisg occurred there rponse to a police raid at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar Greenwich Village on June 28, 1969. In San Francis, 30 gays and lbians marched down Polk Street on Saturday, June 27, 1970.
The followg day, hundreds of people held a “gay-” at Speedway Meadow Goln Gate Park. There was no event June 1971, but the Age of Aquari Para on Folsom Street Augt 1971 featured some gay marchers and floats.
