That’s what I found when I examed a recently released survey, the <a href=">2016 Cooperative Congrsnal Electn Survey</a> (CCES), which clud qutns about a person’s sexual orientatn and genr inty. The CCES is a large survey ma up of 64,600 terviews. The 2016 survey clud 4,946 dividuals who self-intify as lbian, gay or bisexual, and/or transgenr — makg up 8.8 percent of the weighted sample. This actually oversampl LGBT-intified people pared wh other studi of the LGBT populatn, <a href=">recently reported to be 4.1 percent</a> of the U.S. adult populatn.</p></div><div class="article-body" data-qa="article-body"><p data-ttid="drop-p-letter" data-el="text" class="wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overriStyl font-py" dir="null">Measurg LGBT populatns n be difficult, but the Williams Instute recently intified bt practic for surveyg and measurg <a href=">sexual orientatn</a> and <a href=">genr inty</a>. The greatt differenc n be seen the acknowledgment of whe privilege. About 70 percent of cisgenr heterosexual people of lor, 70 percent of LGBT whe people, and 77 percent of LGBT people of lor agree that “Whe people have certa advantag bee of the lor of their sk,” pared wh about 41 percent of cisgenr heterosexual whe people. In the 2016 CCES, 75 percent of those who intify as LGBT say they are eher Democrats or lean toward the Democratic Party; 46 percent strongly intify as Democrats. Racial attus the Uned Stat have been more strongly rrelated wh <a href=">partisanship</a>, and racial attus <a href=">mattered more the electn of Donald Tmp</a> than electg Barack Obama. Apparently LGBT people’s polil leangs may be a factor of their more progrsive racial attus.</p></div><div class="article-body" data-qa="article-body"></div><div class="article-body" data-qa="article-body"><p data-ttid="drop-p-letter" data-el="text" class="wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overriStyl font-py" dir="null">Beg aware of racism and holdg racist attus may well be distct but related ncepts; other words, some whe LGBT people may be more likely to perceive racism while also behavg or speakg a racist way.</p></div><div class="article-body" data-qa="article-body"><p data-ttid="drop-p-letter" data-el="text" class="wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overriStyl font-py" dir="null">Or perhaps LGBT people of lor are more willg to speak out when they face racist treatment om the LGBT muny. Certaly, reports surfaced that some <a href=">gay men’s bars </a>exclu people of lor and women. And a very small ntgent of whe LGBT people may be pecially willg to speak out loudly on such qutns as the Philalphia rabow flag. But on the whole, LGBT people — both those who are whe and people of lor — are more progrsive their racial attus than their cisgenr heterosexual unterparts.</p></div><div class="article-body" data-qa="article-body"><p data-ttid="drop-p-letter" data-el="text" class="wpds-c-cYdRxM wpds-c-cYdRxM-iPJLV-css overriStyl font-py" dir="null"><em><a href=">Andrew R.
