Good morng to all. Are there any 1/48 ls for the Enola Gay or Boks r? I have the b-29 om Monogram and as the parts are there to make a "Silv * 1 48 enola gay decals *
Inially I was gog to do both atomic bombers, but once I really got a look at all that was gog to be volved producg a "Silverplate" Superfortrs out of the vast amounts of plastic that Monogram crammed to that huge box, I opted for a different approach - I'd build one Silverplate as the Enola Gay, and the other as a nventnal B-29 Superfortrs.
I pated the Enola Gay varyg shas of AK Extreme Metallics - duralumum, whe alumum, dark alumum, and stals steel. Speakg of, I had to be creative the e of my work space given the ks' size, and whilst movg the Enola Gay so I uld work on the other, I heard somethg h the floor. I don't feel like I did que as good a job on Enola Gay as I did on Hump' Honey, but I thk I'll cut myself a ltle b of a break, as there is an sane amount of work to do to even be able to get to the right ballpark for a Silverplate bomber.
Microsle had a set of Enola Gay ls (sheet 48-569) but are long sce out of productn. Are there any 1/48 ls for the Enola Gay or Boks r? 1/48 sle B-29 Enola Gay.

I nverted the Monogram B-29 to the Enola Gay versn and had to create the ls as none exist. The are high qualy garphics, 1/48 sle to f perfectly. They are on transparent film, so * 1 48 enola gay decals *
Several l sheets appear and the Enola Gay is clud. And the origal Monogram boxg of the k had the markgs for the Enola Gay. I’m pretty sure that there was an IPMS Nats sheet that had markgs for both Enola Gay and Bocksr.

I uldn’t believe my luck when a ctomer Ameri asked me not only to build the Enola Gay B-29 for him – but to build 1/48th sle! Unfortunately for me, Revell have cid not to offer the Enola Gay as one of the optns this k.
There is a very nice set of ls for a uple of other aircraft – and would build to a very nice example, but my guy wanted the Enola Gay – and all honty why wouldn’t you? Why wouldn’t you offer Enola Gay as an optn? I know the Enola Gay is on display at the Smhsonian, but was only when I did some rearch that I found that after was donated to them 1953 was simply abandoned outsi for a .

Even then, only a portn of the aircraft’s felage was to be put on display – and was planned to appear alongsi an exhibn that portrayed the bomb dropped on Hiroshima as an act of vengeance, and Enola Gay as a symbol of nuclear terror.
Fortunately, an outcry om veterans and the public stopped that prentatn and the whole aircraft was rtored and is now on display – but I thk is this queasy reluctance to face the role Enola Gay played WW2 that li behd the cisn.

I was now ready to pat, and whilst workg out whether to add the turrets before or after patg, I sudnly realised Enola Gay didn’t have turrets. This ctn is for a 1/48 set of ls by Super Sle #48-569 For the B-29 ENOLA GAY.
