Each story rrponds to one of the four phas of the moon: new, half waxg, full, and half wang; and each has a gay protagonist at a roughly rrpondg time of life: late childhood, late teens or very early 20s, middle 30s, and old age. Each protagonist fac challeng typilly faced by gay mal at those tim of life, but prented entirely origal I said, this is a very amb movie - attempts to give a prehensive look at an entire lifetime of gay experienc.
Not only that, but do so wh such origaly that none of the four stori seemed like jt a rehashg of the same old gay g-out/mid-life-crisis/etc formulas. 4 Moons is h and new, not like any gay movie that me before stori are not arranged sequentially but are terwoven, swchg between them perdilly a way that is never distractg. Each story is pennt, but the theme of all four stori is the same--difficulti face by gay men.

The lk to the four tal are all about love and acceptance and are all about gay say anymore ns the risk of revealg the plot(s).
Why n't the Gay Films the U. It amaz me wh all the talent and money Hollywood that Gay films are generally so loy. Except for a uple of films like GBF and The Geography Club there have been almost no good gay films the past year or so.

I thk most Amerin gay men will too. We are treated to four different yet terwoven stori; the mon nomator beg that they al wh beg gay and gay one story we meet an elrly closeted gay poet, Joaquín (Alonso Echánove); he is married, wh a seemgly happy wife and dghters. The relatnship between two young gay men is put unr prsure a third story; Leo (Gtavo Egelhaaf) is closeted and sred to reveal his sexual orientatn, whilst Fo (César Ramos) do not want to rema the closet any longer.
In the fourth story a clearly gay boy, Mric (Gabriel Santoyo) velops a csh on his olr , Oliver (Sebastián Rivera). Mric sperately wants to get closer to Oliver, but is a risky move; what if Oliver is straight and homophobic? The director, Serg Tovar Velar, effectively highlights some of the issu faced by gays: Social prsure rultg fear and closeted liftyl, a swgg liftyle and promiscuy, and how hard is to make a long-term relatnship work.
Furthermore, shows how a homophobic and tolerant society, fueled by the church, n rult bullyg and asslt. Gay cema has reached an epome, by walkg hand hand wh director Serg Tovar Velar.
