This is fely a great place to be if you’re terted gettg volved wh Ann Arbor’s gay nightlife. Yet I did check at the Town Bar and the Flame Bar, both gay bars, om time to time, and went there wh iends, jt to sample a different environment for a change. Also, as young micians about town, we went to many bars, but also to the two ma gay bars we knew of, the Town Bar at 212 E. Although we sometim went to eher of the gay bars, was the Town Bar that I would vis most often.

One of my band members, my keyboard player was gay, whose room was jt across the hall om me the Prime Mover Hoe at 114 N.
And the graduate library, seemed there were plenty of gay men there, some of them our boss.
And the library folks went to the gay bars downtown Ann Arbor regularly, particular the Town Bar, so if we went there, we probably knew someone, bee we worked at the library together. My first troductn to ‘gayns” Ann Arbor was probably the late 1950s and early 1960s, bee at the si door to the Michigan Unn, was a ltle circle drive where folks were dropped off, and a long low cement wall that reached out to State Street. So, that was my troductn to the Ann Arbor gay scene, playg folk guar on the lawn, while all kds of ‘cisg” went on right before our ey.
