It was all a far cry om the vibrant gay scene that Edburgh boasts today, centred around the multu of LGBTQI+ venu that make up Greensi's famo 'pk triangle', but back the seventi the lik of the Kenilworth and the Nelson Hotel the New Town was pretty much all there was. " The Kenilworth's time as a gay pub fizzled out towards the end of the 1970s, as Edburgh's gay scene branched out and expand wh the openg of the Lghg Duck at Howe Street and the ground breakg gay nightclub Fire Island on Prc Street. "It all changed though when there was a change management and the new people g weren't so gay-iendly. The Kenilworth had n s urse and sudnly there was a new bar on the block that was n by gay people.

I did like the fact that this is a gay PUB wh real ale, not a bar. There is a distct lack of tradnal pubs on the gay scene and I liked the atmosphere here, or I would have done if there was anyone else there. I feel sorry for the people of Edburgh if they thk this is a normal gay bar.

I didn't realise for a gay bar they uld be so nclive.
