As a gay man watchg I was embarrassed to thk that people might see this and thk that this is what we're all like. The fact that they start wh a group of gay men who are clearly not a gay bar, happily stg there havg discsns – 15 years ago, if that was a scene Queer as Folk, probably would have end wh some kd of homophobic abe or attack or somethg. I thk there were many que subtle aspects of the episo like that which might not necsarily have been too noticeable, showg gay people livg que openly and fortably, which actually says a lot about problems they were discsg were problems that would also affect heterosexual upl, like one person wantg to get married and the other not wantg to get married, so I thk 's really good that the issu that hopefully e out are not 'gay issu', they are human issu. We jt need a normal show about relatnships a normal way, not this stereotypil 'all gay people thk about is sex, all gay people want is sex'. I n unrstand why some gay people would watch and jt hate and lerally s jt focg on sex and how that might wd some people up, but I didn't fd that an issue. I really liked the character and the kd of central nce of the character, the fact that he is a ms of ntradictn, like beg very flamboyantly gay but hatg gay men.
