An honor of which Gay is pecially proud was beg ved 1993 to create an ornament for the official Whe Hoe Christmas Tree celebratn of the Year of Amerin Craft. Gay has been a profsnal artist for over 30 years. After many years of specializg creatg woven artworks, Gay has recently add quiltg and fabric llage to her repertoire.
In the summer of 2008 Gay Jensen went to Alaska, and one of the highlights of her trip was seeg bears ngregate at Brooks Falls to feed on the salmon n. Usg photographs she had taken of bears at Brooks Falls, the pair of old jeans she wore on the trip, a piece of scrap wood, pat, and leftover fabric om a quilt project, Gay created “Enunters Remembered” (see image below). When she worked on “Enunters Remembered” Gay loved the way the nim fabric of her old jeans reacted to the pat.
And Hollyrocks is not a gay bar, although is a venue that striv to be welg for all. In the later half of the 20th century, drag was mostly performed gay bars for predomantly gay dienc, or urban areas wh substantial populatns of LGBTQ people, plac such as Chigo, Milwkee and the Tw Ci the Midwt.
