WOULD YOU LOVE A GAY AFFIRMG CHURCH?
I was simply lookg to be actively volved and bee a member of the church… Bee I was gay, that was sufficient for [them] to turn around and say no. But all of a sudn, ‘Oh, but now you say you’re gay, you n’t do that any more’. Recent rearch strongly suggts that LGBT people who ntue to intify as Christian experience heightened “homonegativy” – negative and shame-filled feelgs about their sexualy – pared to non-relig, or even formerly Christian, LGBT people.
Some pastors believe that the Church’s stance on homosexualy is outdated. When me to the sermon, I adm that I was expectg them to e the Bible to promote a "gay agenda. Perhaps the only unual thg about the msage was that was preached by a woman, which kd of rattled my plementarian while there didn't seem to be any type of "gay agenda" the church's msage or lurgy, I did sense the church's culture.
