This landmark event as an openly gay group was a bold statement llaboratn wh and support om the Cathedral. In 2015, a group om Openg Doors London me to the matee performance of The Big Gay Swg followed by a talkback wh John and Artistic Director Simon Sharp. The Chos has formed a strong bond wh the New York Cy Gay Men’s Chos, the Doodl of Prague, the Amsterdam Gay Men’s Chos, and the Chigo Gay Men’s Chos.

Pl wanted to know what sort of clothg gay men wanted to have signed, and dragged Alisdair along as moral support to ‘survey’ this choir. There was a name change to The London Gay Men’s Chos.
When the Chos turned up at the ma, possibly the only, gay club, a smoke bomb had been thrown by protters.

Warsaw didn’t then have a gay choir for fear of persecutn and the long lens meras that photographed the Chos arrivg to perform were not paparazzi.
The ensemble’s regular trips to the Edburgh Frge wh No Place like Homo and Oklahoma furthered the Chos’ aims of reachg out to other ci and ensurg that the Chos were visible at major arts events the UK.
An unexpected highlight 2011 was when 10 Downg Street asked a small reprentatn om the Chos to attend an event lled “Kickg Homophobia out of Sport. He hop that one day we will see The London Gay Men’s Chos perform Rsia… that really would be an achievement. Mart provid the learship to liver landmark performanc tours to Europe, USA and Atralia, Sydney Opera Hoe as part of the Gay Gam, Boston, Washgton and Montreal as part of the Gala Chos Ftival tour as well as France for Var Voic Ftival and Ireland North and South as part of the Brish Isl tour.
