We foc specifilly on gay men’s relatnships wh a group of non-gay-intified, stereotypilly straight-actg men whom they refer to as “After-N”—so lled bee they prent publicly as “straight” men, generally exprs antipathy towards gay men public durg the day, but make themselv available to gay men for clanste sexual enunters at night (“after ne o’clock”).
MethodsParticipants and ProcrThe data analysed here were llected durg targeted ethnography (Waberg et al., 2007) unrtaken to adapt Mpowerment, a muny-level HIV preventn terventn for young gay and bisexual men of proven efficy the Uned Stat (Kegel, Hays & Coat, 1996) to the South Ain ntext (known prently as Project Bohato). We did not discern differenc between geographic muni or data llectn method, and have th aggregated and Genr Diversy wh Gay CommuniWhen speakg to self-intified gay men, the ethnographers asked them to fe who they nsired to be part of the gay muny.
