When the inic Rabow Lounge burned down 2017, the "gayborhood" permanently changed. Lol police and TABC agents raid the then recently-opened bar on the 40th anniversary of the raid at the Stonewall Inn Greenwich Village, which set off the Stonewall Rts and gave birth to the morn gay rights movement. The timg of the raid censed the lol gay muny and s supporters.
When the Rabow Lounge burned, the number of gay bars the cy was already paratively low. Back the early ’80s, the town boasted nearly 20 gay bars.
Todd Camp — a lol gay rights activist, -founr and former artistic director and executive director of QCema, Fort Worth's Gay & Lbian Internatnal Film Ftival, the state's longt nng gay film ftival — said the lack of lol gay bars isn’t necsarily a bad sign for the cy. “The gay muny is the dog that ught the r, ” he said.
