PARIS (AP) — The mother of a pupil at a French pre-school stabbed a teacher to ath ont of her class Friday, the last day of the school year, thori said. The tn mister said the mother apparently had "ser psychiatric problems," and pledged support for teachers the face of angry or vlent parents. Police said the mother was taken to ctody. A police official said the mother stabbed the teacher wh a knife soon after school started Friday morng. Hamon said the attacker's child had been the school only for a month and a half, and the mother had had very ltle ntact wh the school staff until Friday. It was unclear whether her 5-year-old dghter was class at the time of the attack. Police and cy officials would not ment on possible reasons for the attack on Fabienne Terral-Calmès, 34. "It's very important to ensure that she is red for." Some teachers plaed that staff cuts have left teachers more vulnerable, and urged better attentn to the tensns they face wh some parents. But fellow teacher Robert Couffignal of the regnal teachers unn sisted that the attack was an "isolated se" that had nothg to do wh this particular school, and warned agast gog overboard wh secury measur as a rult. "Metal tectors at schools are not the answer," he told The Associated Prs by telephone. "We want to have close ntact wh the parents that creat a lk of tst." Recent rearch has examed how gay and bisexual men experience and navigate the variatns sexual mory stigma that exist across geographic ntexts, wh implitns for their health. Drawg on semi-stctured terviews (n = 29) nducted two small US ci (New Haven and Hartford), we fd that the small ci serve as both statns and pots of parture for gay and bisexual men the ntext of stigma.
New Haven and Hartford attracted gay and bisexual men om surroundg suburbs where sexual mory stigma was more prevalent and where there were fewer spac and opportuni for gay life.
