The Quebec Gay Archiv was found 1983, when Ross Higgs and Jacqu Prce cid to create an anizatn which would have as s mandate the acquisn, nservatn and prervatn of all handwrten, prted, visual and d documents related to the gay and lbian muni of Quebec. As donatns of materials ntued to grow, the Quebec Gay Archiv secured 1993 a rented office orr to better anize and nserve s llectns and also rpond to the needs of the public. This space allowed the Archiv to gather one place all the documents and materials prevly dispersed among member’s rinc and the Montreal gay and lbian muny centre (CCGLM).
