The Quebec Gay Archiv was found 1983, when Ross Higgs and Jacqu Prce cid to create an anizatn which would have as s mandate the acquisn, nservatn and prervatn of all handwrten, prted, visual and d documents related to the gay and lbian muni of Quebec. Given the volume of task to be acplished, the important growth of llectns and the arrival of new llaborators, the Quebec Gay Archiv beme officially a not-for-prof anizatn 1985.

This space allowed the Archiv to gather one place all the documents and materials prevly dispersed among member’s rinc and the Montreal gay and lbian muny centre (CCGLM). Sce the openg of s first office 1993, the Quebec Gay Archiv has grown nsirably size.
Each time that the Quebec Gay Archiv cis to move to larger and more expensive premis, we do so knowg that we n rely on the support of our donors. Visors to the Quebec Gay Archiv today are weled to a large, fortable and well-l readg room.
