After a seri of pilot broadsts, Gayd lnched a full time FM service for Manchter 2010. In January 2013, Gayd acquired the DAB licenc for London and the Ssex Coast prevly operated by GaydarRad.

In 2013, Gayd re-lnched as a natnal statn and now has more than 800, 000 monthly listeners. How old were you when you first realise you were gay?

Before you me out, how did beg gay make you feel? At the time I remember thkg that one of the reasons I uldn’t really be gay was bee I saw nobody else around me who was siar to me. There were no role mols that I felt able to look up to – the only gay person I knew of was Julian Clary, and he wasn’t me.

When did you e out as gay?

Dpe the fact that he’d told me he was gay (bee he fancied H om Steps! From there was a gradual procs of lettg people know about my boyiend rather than tellg them that I was gay, which felt easier at the time and more than jt a notn.
