The gravtone of landspe pater Edward Gay is one of the more unual monuments the cemetery at St. The size of a love seat, was sculpted by Gay’s son Dunn as a ttament to the endurg love of his parents.
Edward Gay died March 1928, at age 92 and his wife Martha died the followg month. Born Ireland 1837, Gay immigrated to Ameri wh his parents 1848, the time of the vastatg potato fame. The fay’s parture was also ed by fears that Richard Gay, Edward’s father, would be arrted bee of his volvement wh Irish natnalist polil movements.
