As an atheist and gay man, I was trigued to learn about this story (and kd of embarrassed to have known nothg about him already) performanc, pecially Jam Fran's, were excellent. Beg a gay man and an atheist I still fundamentally, profoundly disagree wh Glatze's this movie helped me unrstand him better. I remember Michael and his boyiend ( real life named "Benji") and their polyamro relatnship wh a third young gay man ("Stt" real life).

Well, after awhile they fell off the radar and I never knew what happened to I googled "Young Gay Ameri" and found that Michael had gone str8. While Fran is a brilliant actor, his ongog public gay-bag and exploatn of the gay muny have rced him to a mere stagram unrwear mol. And Fran did the film to ntue danglg himself ont of gay men.

It would have been easy for Kelly to direct a feature which picted Glatze as a self-hatg gay man who hurls himself back the closet, but the tth may be more plited (some have suggted Glatze may not have been gay the first place), and the film attempts to prent the facts of his life at the time whout makg judgments. The movie may be unfortable viewg for some (Gay and Straight) but s a movie that is worthy s own right. An apparent anti gay film but not really on a eper level.

This film tells the story of a proment gay activist who found God, and subsequently he cis to openly renounce the gay liftyle, and go to bible school. Watchg a film wh such a ntent a gay and lbian film ftival surely mak viewers gasp disbelief!

So they not only ma an anti gay movie, they also paid the person rponsible for so many broken liv. While I unrstand the importance of the msag this film ntas - 's ok to be gay, 's ok to be Christian, 's ok to be a gay Christian and 's ok to be a gay guy who fds God and be straight, I have so many issu wh , that will be difficult to review the film rather than jt rant about relign. I adm, I am imprsed wh his directn and wh the too often gay cema and movi general really, suffer om weak stori and cmblg screenplays.
