Roby Lee, 32, of Flt, hyp up the crowd at his event, Wedngay, at Flt Cy Hard Cir on Sept. ‘Wedngay’ has been happeng every other week at Flt Cy Hard Cir sce Augt. A dance party wh a new theme every week, Wedngay has brought more than 100 participants durg s first three events, somethg s creator Roby Lee said he’s been happy to see as his goal was to create a safe space for members of the LGBTQ muny.

“They always have bands and artists and pop-ups up there so I was like, why don’t we have a gay night or somethg? “I wanted to create a safe space for gay people and alli of gay people. He said that some of Flt’s popular gay bars like Contos Club Triangle and Pachyrm Pub, are out of bs and nothg has replaced them, leavg the LGBTQ muny whout any spac the area signed for them.

“My whole stance behd (Wedngay) is I want everyone to e together for a good time and show that there is a safe space for the gays Flt, ” Lee said. Ireland add that for members of the LGBTQ muny Flt, the only optn someone has “to be an environment that’s not homophobic or transphobic” is eher at a hoe party or hours away a different cy. So far, Lee’s Wedngays have been beach-themed and wboy-themed.

“We don’t reall have gay safe spac the cy and I’m jt like, ‘man, I feel like we have to change that now more than ever. ’ It’s a muny-based town as is, so why n’t we brg the gay muny here, ” Lee said.
The next Wedngay event will be on Wednday, September 29 at 7 p. Lee’s event, WednGAY, will take place downtown Flt’s Bsh Park om 6 p.
