Gay found a smoky scene wh four exhsted volunteer firefighters rtg on a hillsi, ma a few am and returned to the paper. Known for his dramatic, high-ntrast prts, Gay says “a voice on the si” told him he had somethg special. The photo won the Pulzer Prize — and Gay is the only photographer the history of The Seattle Tim to be award .
Gay remas an analog person. The Pulzer Prize-wng photographer Jerry Gay met Ted Bundy several years after the mystery of missg and btally murred women gripped the natn. In 1977, Gay, who then worked for The Seattle Tim, was allowed accs to Bundy Colorado, where he was ctody on a murr charge.

The room was one where an mate might meet wh an attorney, Gay relled. “I told him ‘Thank you, Ted’ and I left, ” Gay said. Years later, Gay said he vised the Taa home of Bundy’s mother and stepfather to give them the photos, but left when Louise Bundy yelled at him to go.

In 1977 photographer Jerry Gay met Ted Bundy the Garfield County Jail Glenwood Sprgs, Colorado. (Jerry Gay). Photographer Jerry Gay met Ted Bundy several years after the mystery of missg and murred young women gripped the Northwt the mid-1970s.
The 71-year-old Gay, who liv Everett, met about a year ago wh Alison O’Brien, a eelance documentary producer for CNN. Gay said he provid about 20 photos of Bundy for the siblg HLN channel’s seri “How It Really Happened, ” which will air the first of a four-part program about the killer at 8 p. Gay hasn’t seen the pleted project and don’t know which of his photos were ed.
