The nam , The Gay Gordons, The earlit reference to a dance lled ‘The Gay Gordons’ is om the early 20th Century and the tle refers to the Gordon Highlanrs army reg, The Dashg Whe Sergeant, This dance dat om the late 19th Century and has been attributed to David Anrson of Dune. The dance is based on very old Sttish format, Canadian Barn Dance, Believed to have been origally vised by B. Durrands and has been popular all over Stland sce the late 19th Century. Instctns C, Highland Schottische, The Highland Schottische was troduced 1850s and was ially known as the ‘Balmoral Schottische’.
