The Tufts Queer History Project started as a Tufts Summer Scholars Rearch Project proposed by the fifth Lbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Center Director, Dona Yarbrough 2006. Elena Mead, then a sophomore, was award the rearch scholar grant and worked wh the director on the project. Gay liberatn is often said to have started wh the Stonewall Rts July 1969, Tufts gay liberatn may have started out at the 1969 graduatn ceremony, when a stunt me out on stage.
