I was also volved LAGPA (Lbian and Gay Police Associatn), then the GPA (Gay Police Associatn) London, marchg Pris as a Police staff member, as a Special Constable and as a SOCO before jog the Gay Staff Network South Wal. Although I am always out and will very volly challenge any assumptns about myself or others both work and outsi of work, I found myself not wantg to be ‘active’ and ‘a problem gay’ my new environment.

I was one of the first out gay ps Staffordshire. When I started policg, beg LGBT+ at work wasn’t an optn at all – there was still a ‘macho’ culture and beg a gay p on shift wasn’t a nsiratn. Fast forward 20 years and personally I have found that beg a gay p is about an tertg topic as the weather!

I am nfint, assertive and pletely at ease wh my wonrful gay liftyle, and feel very lucky to have .
