Three major queer triumphs clud A Strange Loop, about a gay Black man tryg to wre a mil about a gay Black man—which won bt mil; Company, which won bt revival of a mil; and Take Me Out, which won the award for bt revival of a play. Take Me Out featured gay in Jse Tyler Fergon and a much talked about scene of full ontal male nudy.
Company is notable for swchg the genr of the protagonist (played by Katra Lenk) and the recent passg of s creator, Stephen Sondheim, 91, who was arguably Broadway’s greatt gay trailblazer.

Company’s Patti LuPone won for supportg actrs a mil (this is her third Tony), and LuPone’s -star Matt Doyle, who is gay, picked up bt supportg actor. The Lehman Trilogy took out five Tony Awards, cludg the prize for the lead performance of Simon Rsell Beale, who is gay.
