You n read more of the close looks <a href=">here</a>.</em></p><h2>OTIS MILBURN, <em>SEX EDUCATION</em></h2><p class="paywall">“Cool” is not a word that would be ed to scribe Otis Milburn, <strong>Asa Butterfield</strong>’s gangly high school stunt turned unlikely sex gu Netflix’s <em>Sex Edutn.</em> The teenager is so unfortable his own sk—easily startled, ey naturally shiftg downward—that, the pilot, after a classmate meets Otis’s sgle mom, Jean (<strong>Gillian Anrson</strong>’s überol sex therapist), and shar a jot wh her, he asks Otis, “Are you adopted?” Wearg a dweeby sweatshirt and haircut, Otis n only sputter rponse.</p><div class="AdWrapper-dQtivb fZrssQ ad ad---ntent"><div class="ad__slot ad__slot---ntent" data-no-id="gjs5vp"></div></div><p class="paywall">Butterfield told <em>Vany Fair</em> that he was drawn to Otis’s “perfect blend of hont, reactive humor, and awkwardns of teenage angst. Whilst also havg this credibly wise-beyond-their-years feelg about him, which stck me as beg que unique. In Otis, he saw a gold me of potential—given how the pdish and nrotic character stumbl to his own bs at high school, helpg peers problem-solve their own dysfunctnal sex liv.</p><p class="paywall">“My first nversatn I had wh [director <strong>Ben Taylor</strong>]…I remember one of his scriptns of Otis beg someone who, when there’s an awkward silence, he’s the sort of boy who won’t stay silent but will blurt out somethg then that mak even more awkward. Those are all very faiar feelgs.… I really enjoy awkward characters.”</p><p class="paywall">“I’m stctively awkward—I don’t know if that’s a posive thg or not,” lghed the actor. “I jt brg that out of me.” Early the seri, Butterfield said he improvised a reactn to someone surprisg Otis—a kd of strangled, high-pched yelp.
