Friends for Lbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgenr and Queer Concerns, found 1972, is a natnal Quaker fah muny that holds biannual gathergs as well as regnal meetgs. Friends for Lbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgenred and Queer Concerns [FLGBTQC] the Uned Stat, like ten or twelve other Quaker groups, sent an epistle to the Conference.
This nfirms my observatn that the grassroots Friends Kenya are not particularly terted the homosexualy issue sce the women have much more prsg issu such as domtic abe, poverty, and genr discrimatn.
Let me give an example of this dynamic: Durg the 2010 vote on the new Kenyan nstutn, the NCCK was strongly opposed, mostly bee they felt that the new nstutn would allow more abortns and legalize homosexualy. On the other hand, as far as I know, there has been no openly gay volunteer, but this is explaed by the fact that 75% to 80% of our volunteers are female and many of the men who do attend are attendg wh their wiv and sometim children.
