"I thought was, like, food poisong or whatever. It got worse, got worse, got worse, got worse”—until he was hospalized wh “unimagable pa” on the day “Lie Lie Lie” was released. He’s slightly vague on the e of all this—although, he says, “I’m sure strs had a part ”—but turned out to be septic shock and heart failure: "[The doctors] told me that I had a 30% chance of survival. His ey start to water for a send, before he reach for his glass and clos them. "It mak me emotnal. I didn't necsarily have that when I was younger. I didn't have a <em>me</em> sayg stuff like this," he says. He reerat: "I'm very at peace. I'm celebratg Pri all month long."</p><p>Two affogatos later, Bassett stands up to get on wh his day. "I'm growg so much. The year that I've had has been earth-shatterg. I'm still landg on my feet," he tells me.
