In a new study, jt fund wh $164, 000 om the Robert Wood Johnson Foundatn, Gay and lleague Sahara Byrne will velop the Mdls Eatg Challenge, a new cell phone game for young adolcents that rewards good health habs and food choic.
"The game will e eatg tips, mobile phone snapshots of food that players plan to eat, nurturg of virtual characters and feedback om the system and om peers to promote good nutrn and healthy liftyl, " explas Gay, notg that the game is tend to make young teens more aware of mdls eatg, which ntribut to the untry's epimic of oby. The game will be signed llaboratn wh Cornell's Food and Brand Lab, directed by Brian Wansk, says Gay, and will draw om psychologil and social psychologil rearch to liver healthy eatg msag to children alg wh oby or poor dietary habs.
"Through playg the game, we believe that the children will ternalize and adopt the msag as learned behavrs, " Gay says. Next, the stunts will try out a new system that Gay's group is signg.
