From the ’70s to the early ’90s, two inic bars were at the epicenter of the gay nightlife scene Salt Lake Cy—The Sun Tavern (The Sun) and The Trapp. The Sun was opened 1973 by Joe Redburn as the first real gay club the nservative state, and was also aclad as the first “dis” as the bar hoed the first ever dis ball on a dance floor Utah.
Redburn sold The Sun 1990 and he opened The Trapp 1991 as a untry-wtern gay bar.
