It’s an clive nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprof open to all lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, queer or qutng (LGBTQ) people and straight alli. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their monstrated acplishments support of the Arlgton Public Schools’ (APS) polici of diversy, fairns, safety, and equaly, and/or their membership and activi their schools’ Gay-Straight Alliance.

GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANC

The Washgton County Gay Straight Alliance Scholarship Fund was created 2017 to provi scholarships to stunts who have advoted for the Lbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgenr, Transsexual, Qutng, Queer, Asexual, and Allied (LGBTQA) muny. One way stunts n make their school a safer environment for all youth is through a gay-straight alliance, or GSA — a stunt-led club that provis support for lbian, gay, bisexual, and transgenr stunts and their iends. Gay-Straight Allianc (GSAs) are stunt-led clubs that provi a safe and affirmg environment for lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr and qutng stunts and their heterosexual alli.

Rearch Shows*Stunts schools wh GSAs are ls likely to hear homophobic remarks such as “faggot” or “dyke” school on a daily basis than stunts whout a GSA (57% pared to 75%) stunts schools wh GSAs are ls likely to miss school bee they feel unsafe pared to other stunts: a quarter (26%) of stunts schools wh GSAs missed school the past month bee they felt unsafe pared to a third (32%) of stunts at schools whout GSAs.

Although there are not as many specifilly gay bars and clubs here as there were the 1980s and '90s, there are several venu the area which always attract a good crowd. Wednday is generally known as “gay day”, when the area is buzzg wh young people and the bar is open for the eveng at the Diversy Café, a queer meetg place for young people and adults aged up to 27. If ’s too by for you there though, you uld try your luck at the Ksar Bar on Müllerstrasse – a pub that always brgs a lot of gay patrons on Wedndays.

For the slightly olr crowd, gay bar Café Nil is a fortable spot which opens at noon and offers a menu featurg simple dish such as schnzel, alongsi s drks offerg.

There are regular Gay Schlager mic parti here, but the venue also draws a crowd for s After-Oktoberft, Easter and Christmas events.

Though there are always gay and lbian clubbers here, the venue also holds two monthly events which are pecially geared towards the LGBTQ* scene: Playground and well as the many clubs which are part of Munich's LGBTQ* scene, there are also var regular club nights which take place different venu around the cy.
