In school, sexual mory youth report negative experienc such as bullyg and antigay victimizatn by other stunts (Birkett, Espelage, & Koenig, 2009; D'Augelli, Pilkgton, & Hershberger, 2002; Kosciw, Greytak, & Diaz, 2009), or havg their property damaged or stolen (Garofalo et al., 1998).

A recent Oregon study found the risk of attemptg suici for lbian, gay, and bisexual youth was 20% greater social environments unsupportive of LGBTQ persons pared to LGBTQ-supportive environments (Hatzenbuehler, 2011) rearch scribed above has been valuable intifyg the difficulti experienced by sexual mory youth and the ntexts which the experienc take place (Birkett et al., 2009; D'Augelli, 2006; Floyd et al., 1999; Rostosky et al., 2007).
