Acrdg to Lambda Legal’s “When Health Care Isn’t Carg” study, 73% of transgenr rponnts and 29% of lbian, gay and bisexual rponnts said that they felt they would be treated differently by medil profsnals bee of their LGBTQ+ stat. Seventy percent of transgenr/genr non-nformg patients and 56% of lbian, gay and bisexual patients said they had experienced some type of discrimatn healthre. Cleveland Clic’s Center for LGBT Care is our hub for lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr patients.
Lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr dividuals have unique health needs and have tradnally been an unrserved part of the muny. Gay men and transgenr patients are at a higher risk of sexually transmted fectns. One patient, a gay man, was referred to the Center for LGBT Care Chagr Falls after learng he was HIV posive.
