While I thk ’s safe to assume that men gettg their k off is part of The Full Monty’s appeal for gay dienc, there is somethg fundamentally not-gay about the film’s approach to pictg the male body—and ’s not jt the fact that looks away when the characters fally liver on the film’s tle. It lacks the gay gaze. Of urse, homoeroticism isn’t the only barometer by which a film’s queerns should be judged.
But a film about male strippers, the absence of the gay gaze is signifint. 5 or 2: certaly not exclively heterosexual, but also, not that gay, really.
