OSR ISAAC WISH POE AND FN WERE GAY ‘STAR WARS’ BUT ‘PEOPLE ARE TOO AAID’
The ia of the Star Wars universe acquirg s first queer character has blown up throughout gay Isaac even seemed to ht at the romance on Ellen:"I thk 's a very subtle romance that's happeng. "Wh fan fictn and theori of the blossomg romance takg hold of the Inter, we have our own are 10 thgs about Poe Dameron that ma our gaydar go off:1. did clu Star Wars' first openly gay relatnship on-screen wh a kiss between two Ristance hero.
But a) at this pot, we didn’t know anythg about how Fn and Poe would teract the movie, so there was no big homoerotic subtext-y -joke to wk and nudge elbows at, and b) Osr Isaac really don’t seem like the kd of guy who would play up a no-homo bromance for lghs.
I’m not actually stg here tryg to nvce you that Poe Dameron is gay. Handsome, darg, feisty, vicly petent, sweet, elegant… and gay, some part of my own queer subnsc immediately whispered to me.
PLEASE, STAR WARS, LET POE DAMERON, OR ANY HERO, BE GAY
I’m pretty sure he’s meant to be gay. My love triangle theory, if Poe is ed gay, is that he’s attracted to Fn but won’t end up wh him – through this plot, we’d learn that he’s queer, and will eher be heartbreakg or a “more (male) fish the sea, still love ya, buddy” suatn. Some people look for, or actively vent, queer pairgs to ship every fandom, and that’s fe, but ’s not me, and this scenar, I’m more vted the ia of this one character beg gay, wh no romance volved, than shippg a queer ship that will probably never e to pass.
Poe should totally be gay!
We won’t fet the reactn any time soon to Marvel’s genero statement that they might be able to clu a gay character their movi… wh a . I disvered that Sjir Rath Vel, the lead character of Chuck Wendig’s new Star Wars tie- novel Aftermath, is gay, and that Lusfilm were nothg but supportive of the first queer hero a Star Wars story.
