adopted dghter, Dylan Farrow. As the thor of two lengthy, heavily rearched and thoroughly fact-checked articl that al wh that allegatn—<a href=">the first published 1992</a>, when Dylan was seven, and <a href=">the send last fall, when she was 28</a>—I feel obliged to set the rerd straight. As such, I have piled the followg list of unniable facts:</p><p><strong>1. Mia never went to the police about the allegatn of sexual abe.</strong> Her lawyer told her on Augt 5, 1992, to take the seven-year-old Dylan to a pediatrician, who was bound by law to report Dylan’s story of sexual vlatn to law enforcement and did so on Augt 6.</p><p class="paywall"><strong>2. Allen had been therapy for alleged appropriate behavr toward Dylan wh a child psychologist before the abe allegatn was prented to the thori or ma public.</strong> Mia Farrow had stcted her babysters that Allen was never to be left alone wh Dylan.</p><div class="Contaer-bkChBi byNLHx"></div><p class="paywall"><strong>3. Allen refed to take a polygraph admistered by the Connecticut state police.</strong> Instead, he took one om someone hired by his legal team. The Connecticut state police refed to accept the tt as evince. The state attorney, Frank Ma, says that Mia was never asked to take a lie-tector tt durg the vtigatn.</p><div class="AdWrapper-dQtivb fZrssQ ad ad---ntent"><div class="ad__slot ad__slot---ntent" data-no-id="817adu"></div></div><p class="paywall"><strong>4. Allen subsequently lost four exhstive urt battl—a lawsu, a disciplary charge agast the prosecutor, and two appeals—and was ma to pay more than $1 ln Mia’s legal fe.</strong> Judge Elltt Wilk, the pridg judge Allen’s ctody su agast Farrow, nclud that there is “no credible evince to support Mr. Allen’s ntentn that Ms. Farrow ached Dylan or that Ms. Farrow acted upon a sire for revenge agast him for scg Soon-Yi.”</p><p class="paywall"><strong>5. In his 33-page cisn, Judge Wilk found that Mr. Allen’s behavr toward Dylan was “grossly appropriate and that measur mt be taken to protect her.”</strong> The judge also reunts Farrow’s misgivgs regardg Allen’s behavr toward Dylan om the time she was between two and three years old. Acrdg to the judge’s cisn, Farrow told Allen, “You look at her [Dylan] a sexual way. You fondled her . . . You don’t give her any breathg room. You look at her when she’s naked.”</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-1 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p class="paywall"><strong>6. Dylan’s claim of abe was nsistent wh the ttimony of three adults who were prent that day.</strong> On the day of the alleged asslt, a babyster of a iend told police and gave sworn ttimony that Allen and Dylan went missg for 15 or 20 mut, while she was at the hoe. Another babyster told police and also swore urt that on that same day, she saw Allen wh his head on Dylan’s lap facg her body, while Dylan sat on a uch “starg vantly the directn of a televisn set.” A French tutor for the fay told police and ttified that that day she found Dylan was not wearg unrpants unr her sundrs. The first babyster also ttified she did not tell Farrow that Allen and Dylan had gone missg until <em>after</em> Dylan ma her statements. The sworn acunts ntradict Mos Farrow’s rellectn of that day <em>People</em> magaze.</p><p class="paywall"><strong>7. The Yale-New Haven Hospal Child Sex Abe Clic’s fdg that Dylan had not been sexually molted, ced repeatedly by Allen’s attorneys, was not accepted as reliable by Judge Wilk, or by the Connecticut state prosecutor who origally missned them.</strong> The state prosecutor, Frank Ma, engaged the Yale-New Haven team to terme whether Dylan would be able to perceive facts rrectly and be able to repeat her story on the wns stand. The panel nsisted of two social workers and a pediatrician, Dr. John Leventhal, who signed off on the report but who never saw Dylan or Mia Farrow. No psychologists or psychiatrists were on the panel. The social workers never ttified; the hospal team only prented a sworn posn by Dr. Leventhal, who did not exame Dylan.</p><p class="paywall">All the not om the report were stroyed. Her nfintialy was then vlated, and Allen held a news nference on the steps of Yale Universy to announce the rults of the se. The report nclud Dylan had trouble distguishg fantasy om realy. (For example, she had told them there were “ad heads” the attic and lled sunset “the magic hour.” In fact, Mia kept wigs om her movi on styrofoam blocks a tnk the attic.) I saw her and Dylan aga the next day. That is the last time I saw her until I approached her April 2013 to do a story about her fay and how they had fared over the years.
