While queer people have always been nerdy as hell, the vol ntgent of gay-mers and queer roleplayers has created a new facet of appreciatn and unrstandg for D&D.
One of the ma characters, an elven wizard named Taako, is gay. Beyond Kristen there's also the character of Figueroth "Fig" Faethe, the team's bard, who realiz that she's bisexual at the end of the show's live season, Fantasy High: Sophomore Year.
And then there's NPCs like Ayda Aguefort (Fig's half-phoenix paramour), Tracker O'Shghnsey (Kristen's werewolf girliend) and Ragh Barkrock, a half-orc barbarian whose journey towards happs volv regnizg his own latent homosexualy. As Ally Beardsley (the player behd Kristen Applebe) jok, "Beg gay: When you're here, you're fay. Participants are not required to intify as LGBTQ+, but please keep md that this is a safe space specifilly for LGBTQ+ people and transphobia, homophobia, sexism, racism, or other forms of bigotry will not be tolerated at The Frerick Center's events and programs.
