Asexual, lbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (ALGBT) dividuals face worse life ndns and vlence rat than their heterosexual cisgenr unterparts. However, to date, Brazil’s ALGBT populatn has not been vtigated wh a reprentative sample, and basic rmatn such as populatn size or socmographic characteristics are mostly based non-systematic data. We aimed to asss the proportn of asexual, lbian, gay, bisexual, trans and non-bary adults Brazil, their socmographic characteristics, and self-reported vlence rat. In 2018, a sample (n = 6000) of the Brazilian adult populatn answered a face-to-face survey asssg socmographic characteristics, genr inty, sexual orientatn, and self-reported psychologil, physil, verbal, and sexual vlence. Among Brazilian adults, 12.04% are ALGBT: 5.76% asexual, 0.93% lbian, 1.37% gay, 2.12% bisexual, 0.68 trans, and 1.18% non-bary. Compared to heterosexual cisgenr men, most ALGBT dividuals have worse socenomic ditors and higher rat of self-reported psychologil and verbal vlence. All ALGBT groups and heterosexual cisgenr women reported sexual vlence more often than heterosexual cisgenr men. It was reported between 4 up to 25 tim more often by heterosexual cisgenr women and trans dividuals, rpectively. The rat of the other ALGBT groups s among the two. Our fdgs provi evince of the important size of the ALGBT Brazilian populatn, as well as their socenomic vulnerabily, and ncerng vlence levels experienced by the group. Policy makers may refer to the prent article orr to migate this populatn’s vulnerabily and to better unrstand s socmographic characteristics.
