A North Carola dog who was abandoned after his owners saw him humpg another male pooch and feared he might be gay has found a new fay — who named him after a famo gay Irish poet. The dog was dropped off recently at the Stanly County Animal Protective Servic, a shelter Albemarle, after his owners saw him mountg another male dog and assumed he’s gay. Steve Nichols and his partner, John Wn, cid to adopt Fez when they realized he was facg the same kd of ignorance and bigotry they’ve faced as an openly gay uple, the Charlotte Observer reported.

The uple cid to rename their new four-legged fay member Osr — after Osr Wil, the gay Irish poet and playwright the 1890s. “What is almost as ncerng as the ia that he’s gay, and that the person gave him up for that reason, is the fact that the owner apparently didn’t do anythg to take re of this dog, ” Nichols told the Charlotte Observer. “I know ’s silly to thk that a dog is gay, but if he wants to be gay as hell, he n be gay here, ” he add.
