The owners of Club Rippl -- Long Beach's first gay dance club -- have found a potential buyer for the historic space.

Club Rippl, an inic Long Beach gay bar that’s been part of the fabric of the LGBT muny for more than 40 years, will say a fal goodbye this weekend. It beme a gay bar the 1950s, though that closed 1968.
“It was a rtrant and an inic gay place, ” Garcia said, “and never went straight and he sold to Mary Azar. It was Hebert’s first time gog to gay bars. And Hebert and Garcia are proud of what they’ve done– not only operatg the longt-nng gay bar Long Beach, but also beg activists the muny.
In 1992, for example, Garcia started the Gay Chamber of Commerce. In 1974, Larry Hebert stepped si a gay bar for the first time. Even now, wh the cy long sce transformed om an Iowa-by-the-sea to a progrsive mec, Club Rippl is part of the soul of Long Beach’s gay muny.
