It took what felt like an hour for the words to shape between my teeth and lips but somehow the words fell on the receiver: “I thk I’m gay. I mean, I knew I was gay, but I thought sayg “I thk” might lsen the blow to my mother.
And hontly, I didn’t want to be gay.
