Our sample nsisted of 60 men om the Polish Bear muny (i.e., Bears, Cubs, Otters, Wolv). Lear regrsn mols were performed for the entire sample (N = 60) and for Bear-intified men (N = 31). Perceived sexual mory stigma negatively, and rilience posively, predicted self-teem. In the se of Bear-intified men, age, perceived exposure to weight discrimatn, and BMI were also signifint predictors of self-teem. Higher BMI the se of Bear-intified men predicted higher self-teem. Our rults suggt that although Bear-intified men are characterized by their siari to other gay men, subcultural inti create unique social ntexts that are important for health and health terventns this populatn. * is bear community gay *
