Member of Parliament Venn Young troduced a Crim Amendment Bill 1974 to legalise private 'homosexual acts' between nsentg adults. His bill – not passed to law – followed the Brish mol, wh a proposed age of nsent of 21 (later rced to 20) age of nsent was a major issue for the gay movement. The New Zealand Homosexual Law Reform Society and gay liberatn groups ma submissns on the bill.
