Daley as a way to honor the cy’s LGBT muny, Karl said. At the time, was lled the Chigo Gay & Lbian Hall of Fame and the first ductn ceremony took place durg Pri Week Daley’s office.</p><p>The Hall of Fame relied on support om the cy until 2016 when then-Mayor Rahm Emanuel pulled the plug on s fundg when cuttg rourc for a number of cy programs, Karl said.</p><p>At that time, was renamed the Chigo LGBT Hall of Fame and had one more ductn ceremony 2017, Karl said. Sce then, the program has been supported by the nonprof Friends of the Chigo LGBT Hall of Fame wh approval om the cy.</p><p>The LGBT Hall of Fame held two virtual ductn ceremoni durg the panmic 2020 and 2021, Karl said.</p><p>“So we’re exced to be back person to hold this ceremony and hopefully next year we’ll be able to brg back some of our fundraisg events,” Karl said.</p><p>One of the anizatn’s goals is to engage more younger LGBT people wh the project who might be able to n the Hall of Fame after s current lears retire, Karl said.</p><p>“We’re also tryg to bee a ltle more teractive by dog Instagram posts and other social media thgs,” Karl said. “We’re also always lookg for more volunteers and need the public support.
