For Limerick LGBTQ who intify as Lbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgenr and even Queer, this is an amazg ocsn as everyone walks wh Pri up O’Connell Street acpanied by their loved on, fay and iends as the lovely people of Limerick cheer om the sil. After the crimalisatn of homosexualy Ireland 1993, the doors opened que lerally for LGBTQ dividuals to celebrate who they were amongst like md people, but wasn’t until 2001 that the first Pri Events took place our betiful cy of Limerick and om there we really haven’t looked back.
The ftival also regnised the Internatnal Day Agast Homophobia as an important date s off-season lendar. The referendum marked a dramatic social shift a tradnally Catholic untry that only crimalised homosexualy two s ago. Thoands of people of all ag led the streets for Limerick’s most splendid and lourful day celebratg lbian, gay bisexual and transgenr culture.
