Over the weekend, one of Sprgfield's three gay bars announced that s long-anticipated closure would happen about a month.Acrdg to a statement posted to Touché Nightclub's Facebook acunt early Saturday eveng, the bar's last day of bs will be four to six weeks, "due to the impendg moln of our buildg.""This will mark the end of s of history for this muny," the announcement stated.But the owner of Touché's downtown buildg, Jack Ballew, said Monday that while the real tate is unr ntract for sale, the sale has not yet closed.Ballew said that he do not know when the buyer, a Sprgfield-based velopment firm lled the Veco Group, plans to tear down the buildg.The property is worth $237,900 for the buildg and s half-acre se, acrdg to the Greene County Asssor's 2018 appraisal.Seekg rmatn on when moln might happen, the News-Lear reached out to a Veco Group official three tim for this report but has not yet heard back.Reached by the News-Lear on Monday, Touché manager Jab Welch said that he and the bar staff were planng farewell celebratns, but no dat were set.
