We’ve been open for three and a half years and we have, sce the start, promoted Betty’s as a gay-owned and gay-iendly tablishment.

The stronger the support and the visibily of gay people and more importantly of the straight people who love and support , the better our liv will be. In small towns and muni all over the untry there will be a number of young, sred and secure gay kids. Not only for young gays to feel supported by others, but for other straight people to feel fortable showg support and beg a part of the muny.

GAY HOTELS MI

This year San Diego, all active ary gays and lbians were allowed to march the para their full uniform. Only an ignorant person would assume you have to be gay to be a part of the LGBTQ muny. Some people uld go as far as sayg that we’re flntg to people who aren’t “gay.

Whether you’re born gay, straight, short, tall, etc., ’s acceptance. Pri is a place and opportuny to nnect wh other gay people lolly and have a sense of muny and promote the gay muny to visors to make Mi another reason why gay visors should e to our island. I thk Mi Pri is important so that everyone knows there is a gay muny.

One of the other issu is that we don’t have a PFlag (Parents of Gay and Lbians) Mi for the LGBTQ youth for group ssns wh the LGBTQ muny to talk about stigma and acceptance. Even changg the way people speak, such as not sayg the phrase, “That’s so gay, ” or llg someone a “fag” is a big hurdle that still needs to be overe. One of my favore moments where I experienced gay pri was marchg the Phoenix Pri Para wh my aterny llege.

Public knows several gay or transgenr people and realiz we are jt like they are. I gus you n say that I was one of the few lucky gay persons who has an acceptg fay. I hear about this big fear that if gay marriage is legalized, the law would force religns to wed gay upl.

Back then, Utah high schools didn’t have GSAs (Gay Straight Allianc). The Gay Pri Para New York Cy was a very powerful experience, sometim lghg out loud and other tim cryg. One reason I started workg the gay media was so I uld be open whout the risk of beg fired for beg gay.

Mi pri means an opportuny for the gay muny to e out and celebrate and share wh the muny that there is nothg different about beg gay. A lot of my iends and the people I surround myself wh are a part of the gay muny.
