In the early 1960s, was illegal to be gay. On November 27th, 1978, Harvey Milk, a gay polician, was shot and killed San Francis. In rponse to this horrible crime, the San Francis Gay Men’s Chos (SFGMC) was born.
This unprecented and darg anizatn beme the first openly gay men’s chos the US. In June of 1981, they performed at the Kennedy Center, spirg a group of dividuals right here DC to form their own gay men’s chos. And so began the Gay Men’s Chos of Washgton, DC.
