Emerald Warrrs RFC was formed Augt 2003 by Richie Whyte to provi gay and bisexual men the opportuny to play gby Ireland and ternatnally and to create lks wh siar teams and anisatns the UK, Europe and Ameri. The team began playg 2004 and took part the Bgham Cup often referred to as the ‘Gay World Cup’ that year, reprentg Ireland. The event was emed a succs for gby general, for brgg gay gby Ireland to a new level of anisatn and populary by The Gay and Lbian Equaly Network (GLEN).
They also peted the Unn Cup a biennial European, non-profsnal, gay gby unn tournament om London 2009 to date. [That team] was the first gay and LGBT+ gby team the world.
